~~ Genie List ~~

December 2004, one of my Microsoft Visual Studio. NET instructor during my Post Graduate Course in Computing mentioned what I felt was an amazing thing to do by someone at Microsoft Level.

They had a WISHLIST on their website where coders and developers could put their “wishes” after using, assessing their product, the then Visual Studio. NET version 1.0

The site was bombarded with Wishes and surprisingly Microsoft did oblige tons of them. This is how they thought they could make their software better.

I wish I could have someone granting me my wishes. I have my own Wishlist. Nothing new, everyone flaunts one. Some achievable some utter non-sensical, but hey…..that is what wishes are meant to be. Something beyond truth and sometimes beyond will.

Thought as I would publish mine, just to have all having a view and I shall have my genie someday……

  1. Own the transparent fiber bodied amber colored Hayabusa (I've started saving)
  2. Drift on Indian roads.. ( this one I will definitely do )
  3. Be the reason for my daughter’s smile
  4. See my son join Armed Forces
  5. See an Avalanche
  6. Be alive to know there exists another Earth.
  7. India be the super-power ( This I am dead sure, I will see lot sooner ).
  8. Watch Formula 1 live ( 2011…when it comes to Delhi )
  9. Bowl an over to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar ( Just meeting him would fulfill this one though )
  10. Learn Rumba and perform to an audience.
  11. Visit Paris and lavishly spend on what normally people fear to afford…..BRANDS.
  12. Visit the Chateau Palace
  13. Visit Capa Sa Lucas
  14. Scuba Diving
  15. Picture Lightning
  16. See an active Volcano .... ( this one can afford some distance )
  17. …………. That the list would never end … :P

§ĂċĤİŊ

Friendship means a lot to me. I cherish it more than anything on this planet, only my kids come more than my friends.

March 7th 2005, he walked into the office. Lean, receding hairline, he was just 23 then. I didn’t get good vibes and thought why is he chosen to be in my team, by the way he was dressed.

Almost three years and he still hasn’t changed the way he dresses. Wearing the weirdest of combinations and sometimes not even ironing them. That lean guy was immensely talented and now is the most respected member of the team despite having many senior peers.

I had a special bond with him,......... we both had. Soon he was someone I would be happy to see around and spend most of the time with. I am allergic to nicotine, but would still go millions of time with him for a cigarette break.

Nov 2nd 2007, he left city for good. Went to see him off to the airport and yet didn’t say take care, miss you and that kinda stuff. I guess….in friends, you don’t say it.

That guy had tremendous talent and will make a mark pretty soon in his life. A huge mark mind you.

The name is “Sachin” …………. I guess I will miss the Cigarette breaks.
